Bracha GuyBracha Guy (a.k.a B. Guy) is an Israeli artist who currently lives in Tel-Aviv and paints there in her studio year round. Her natural talent with color and form were apparent from an early age, and she has developed it into an extraordinary style. That painting style, a unique postmodern expressionism, combines color, form and space in a graceful, elegant way. Her jewel-like palette of rich colors is serenely executed in her works, reflecting, light and life with an exceptional feminine quality.
B. Guy studied in Israel under the world-renowned painter Moti Mizrahi, who had high praise for her work. From 1970 to 1974, she studied at the Avni School of Art in Aviv. During her early period, Guy's works reflected color, patterns and intricate detail offering an unusual insight into the lives of women, from a feminine point of view. Like a flower unfolding, Guy's work has blossomed and matured. Her latest triumph has been developing and perfecting a new medium that combines color, form and space in her original hand-colored etchings. These etchings are printed on special paper with hand-made wooden plates and each painted uniquely different. They are made in various sizes and have a multitude of images combined into one composition. The softness and beauty in these etchings shimmer with an appreciation of light and color. |
